GREENWOOD LAKE — The owners of Greenwood Lake Roasters, 160 Windermere Ave. in Greenwood Lake, just celebrated their first anniversary and also introduced new commuter hours starting on May 22.
On Monday, May 7, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Greenwood Lake Mayor Jesse Dwyer and members of both the Warwick Valley and Greenwood Lake Chambers of Commerce joined owners David and Yolanda Kozuha, their friends and relatives for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the occasion.
"The community's response and interest has been amazing," said Yolanda Kozuha. "We're fortunate to work with great businesses and be embraced by coffee lovers who are both local and outside of the area."
David Kozuha explained that the certified organic and fair trade small batch craft coffee roastery usually has at least 16 different coffees in-house at any given time and also focuses on coffee education. And they roast new and Old World coffee from Africa, Indonesia, Central and South America on-site in their custom built roaster.
Kozuha was a home roaster before he and his wife opened the business last May and as a home roaster, had to use his various senses to roast coffee. This practice continues at Greenwood Lake Roasters because the custom roaster was built specifically to avoid having a profiling system.
Greenwood Lake Roasters accommodates retail, online and wholesale orders, including custom blends for establishments or special events. While the primary focus is coffee, the company also feature several organic teas.
The new commuter hours starting May 22 are Monday to Friday, 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.; and also Wednesday and Thursday 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
