  • The 4-H Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension is offering Dog Obedience and Grooming classes for young people 9–19 years of age beginning in March.



MIDDLETOWN — The 4-H Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension is offering Dog Obedience and Grooming classes for all young people 9–19 years of age (as of 9/30/17).

There will be an orientation meeting for beginners on Monday, March 12, at the CCE Office in Middletown.

The first class will be held on Monday, March 19, at the CCE Office in Middletown (no dogs at this class).

Starting Monday, March 27, classes will be held (with your dog) at the CCE Education Center and 4 H Park, 300 Finchville Turnpike, Otisville.

Interested youth do not have to be 4-H members to participate.

Any breed of dog 6 months or older can be used. Each dog may only have one trainer. All dogs must have proof of vaccinations.

Advanced classes will also be conducted for young people previously graduating from the beginning or higher levels.

A $15 annual fee for enrolled 4-H members registered prior to March 2 or $30 for non-enrolled 4-H’ers due with the registration, will be charged.

Class sizes are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
