WARWICK — The Warwick Valley Community Center's first 3 Pines Nature Place program begins Tuesday, Jan. 23.

Nature educator Pam Golben will be teaching this Winter Nature Program for 2-4 year old preschoolers and their parents/caretakers.

Little Cones, 3 Pines Nature Place's first official program, will run every Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for six weeks.

The 3 Pines Nature Place is located at the community center in the Village of Warwick. The cost for the series is $90 and their are only nine spots available.

Little Cones nature series includes both indoor and outdoor activity, live animals and sound recordings along with a craft and a story.

Each week will cover a winter topic such as animal tracks, what animals eat and where they sleep, groundhog day and hibernation, backyard birds, maple sugaring and more.

“CONES” reflects the mission of the new 3 Pines Nature Place:

C is for curiosity, conifers, conservation, connecting, climbing, community

O is for organic, ourselves, outside

N is for native, nests, nature, nurture, now

E is for earthy, ecology, environment, exploring

S is for stewards, safe, seasons, shelters, smells, seeds, sitting, seeing

Golben's degrees are in Animal and Environmental Science. She has been a New York State Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator for more than 20 years and is known for her unique approaches to teaching toddlers and preschoolers about "everything nature."

In addition to teaching about nature at a nearby Nature Museum she enjoys beekeeping, growing native wildflowers, hiking the great outdoors and gardening.

For more information and to register, call the Center at 986-6422.
