WARWICK — Warwick Valley Middle School students recently held a bake sale at the Manno Farm to raise money for Hurricane Harvey victims in the Houston, Texas area.

Alexa and Drew Borner, 12, Paige, 10, and Rocco Manno, 12 and twins Abby and Declan Tobin, 12, made brownies and cookies to sell along with lemonade.

The children raised $252.82 for the Houston Food Bank, which will provide 756 nutritious meals for hurricane victims in southeast Texas.

One of the reasons these youngsters were so aware of the Houston situation was because John Tobin, father of Abby and Declan Tobin, is a lieutenant with FDNY Rescue 1 Urban search and rescue rapid response system and has been on the Houston search and rescue team ever since he and his crew were activated on Aug. 26.

For information about contributing to the Houston Food Bank visit: www.houstonfoodbank.org.
