WARWICK — Tired of disagreements? Ready to look at conflict in a new way? Have more compassion in your life? Strengthen your communication with others?

The Albert Wisner Public Library is sponsoring an introduction to Nonviolent Communication (NVC) on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

NVC, or compassionate communication, is a new generation of human connection and peace-making skills, developed by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg, that's changing the way we think about conflict.

NVC has been used internationally in political peacemaking, in schools, in prisons, in workplaces, and in private counseling. NVC is communication skills training and practice that spans the globe.

Come learn about this transformative practice, which is for anyone looking to improve relationships with themselves and others - parents, couples, singles, employees/employers, community workers, or anyone distressed by the divisive tone of some public and private conversations.

This interactive introduction, facilitated by a certified NVC trainer, will cover basic concepts and practices and will include open Q&A segments, as well as an experiential exercise.

To register for this free workshop, call the library at 986-1047 ext. 3, or register online at www.albertwisnerlibrary.org.
